Master's Degree Programme in Visual Culture
The Master’s Degree Programme in Visual Culture is a multidisciplinary degree programme in which new types of interaction and opportunities in the changing society at large are examined in the context of theory, contemporary art and production. Visual culture is an extensive field examining the visual expression and boundaries of the world in a multisensual manner and contributing to them. The Degree Programme provides the students with an opportunity to examine the international traditions and current phenomena of the field and develop new types of critical thinking and ways of doing things. The Degree Programme is intended for professionals of contemporary art, media and other visual fields, providing them with an opportunity to deepen and develop their expertise.
The focus of the Degree Programme is on the dialogue between practical work and theoretical thinking and on the combination of the two. The Degree Programme provides the students with an opportunity to deepen their understanding of visual culture, media and contemporary art and allows them to develop their own artistic and productive skills and proportion and adjust them to social phenomena and the new roles of experts of the field. The Degree Programme provides a good basis for esthetical and critical examination of contemporary art and media and for generating and producing them. The Degree Programme is of international character and connected with society at large through different study projects carried out as joint ventures.
